Terms of Service.

The rules of using NOLO. Plain language.

Last updated: 29 April 2026 · Effective date: 1 June 2026

The short version: Tap your card. €1 unlocks the powerbank, then €2/hour with a 1-hour minimum. Daily cap €12. Return it within 48 hours or you're charged €25 and you keep it. No refunds. By using NOLO you accept these terms.

1. Who these terms bind

These Terms of Service form a contract between you ("the Renter") and NOLO Sharing S.L. (legal entity in formation, Spain — "NOLO", "we", "us"). They apply every time you tap a card on a NOLO station and rent a powerbank.

By initiating a rental, you confirm you are at least 18 years old, you have authority to use the payment card presented, and you accept these terms.

2. The service

NOLO operates a network of self-service powerbank rental stations in Mallorca, Spain. Each station holds 8 portable powerbanks with built-in USB-C, Lightning and Micro USB cables. You take a powerbank, charge any compatible device, and return it to any NOLO station — same one or different.

3. Pricing

ChargeAmount
Unlock fee (paid once, at rental start)€1.00
Hourly rate, 1-hour minimum€2.00 / hour
Smallest possible charge€3.00 (returned within 1 hour)
Daily cap (per 24-hour period)€12.00
Lost-device fee (charged if not returned within 48 hours)€25.00 total

All prices are in EUR and include VAT where applicable. Charges are processed via Stripe immediately at rental start (€1 unlock + €2 minimum first hour) and at return (any additional time). The full cap or lost-fee is captured automatically by the pre-authorised hold on your card.

4. How returns work

Push the powerbank into any empty slot at any NOLO station, anywhere. The station detects the return automatically and finalises the charge. If your charge looks wrong, contact support@nolosharing.com within 24 hours of the return.

5. Lost or damaged powerbanks

If you do not return the powerbank within 48 hours of rental start:

If a powerbank is returned physically damaged (cracked casing, broken cables, water damage), we reserve the right to charge up to €25 to cover replacement. We will notify you by email before charging and review evidence on request.

6. Refund policy

NOLO does not issue refunds for completed rentals. The €1 unlock fee, the hourly charges, the daily cap, and the lost-fee are final. Plan your rental accordingly.

Exceptions, at our discretion:

Spanish consumer law: under Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to services already performed — once a rental begins, withdrawal is not available.

7. Payment

NOLO accepts contactless cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments are processed by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified). NOLO does not store your card data.

By tapping your card, you authorise NOLO to:

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Violation may result in account suspension (where applicable), a chargeback dispute on our side, and legal action where appropriate.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Spanish law: NOLO's total liability for any claim relating to a rental is capped at the amount you paid for that rental, plus the value of the powerbank itself (€25). NOLO is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including but not limited to data loss, missed appointments, or device damage caused by improper use of the powerbank or its cables.

Nothing in these Terms limits NOLO's liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Spanish law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect the change. For material changes (pricing, lost-fee, refunds), we will post a notice on the homepage at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of NOLO after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes arising from a rental will be resolved before the courts of Palma de Mallorca, Illes Balears, Spain.

Consumers in the EU may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
